5 Predictions of Kaliyug- Are they coming true?
Our entire history talks about four yug or era i.e Satyug, Treta yug, Dwapar yug and Kaliyug. When the Bhagwat Purana was written in the end are mentioned 5 predictions that would get true when Kaliyug reaches its peak. Though all these predictions were made 5000 years back they seem to be coming true now. Let us read about 5 predictions of Kaliyug and you tell us whether they are getting fulfilled or not.
1) Srimad Bhagavatam 12.2.1
sri-suka uvaca
tatas canu-dinam dharmah
satyam saucam ksama daya
kalena balina rajan
nanksyaty ayur balam smrtih
Meaning- The age of Kali would morally degrade everything. This would lead to a downfall in mercy, human age, cleanliness, religion, truthfulness, tolerance, physical strength and memory.
2) Srimad Bhagavatam 12.2.6
dūre vāry-ayanaḿ
tīrthaḿ lāvaṇyaḿ keśa-dhāraṇam
udaraḿ-bharatā svārthaḥ
satyatve dhārṣṭyam eva hi
dākṣyaḿ kuṭumba-bharaṇaḿ
yaśo ‘rthe dharma-sevanam
Meaning-In the kaliyug any holy place is only going to be a location which has a water body near it. A person’s beauty will be determined by the hairstyle he or she sports. The goal of life would be only to keep your tummy full and people who rebel or fight would be considered truthful. Religious principles would be followed only in name and a person who can maintain his family well would be a rarity.
3) Srimad Bhagavatam 12.2.7
evaḿ prajābhir duṣṭābhir
ākīrṇe kṣiti-maṇḍale
brahma-viṭ-kṣatra-śūdrāṇāḿ
yo balī bhavitā nṛpaḥ
Meaning-Corrupt people will rule the earth. Only that person would be revered who has a high social class in the society.
4) Srimad Bhagavatam 12.2.5
anāḍhyataivāsādhutve
sādhutve dambha eva tu
svīkāra eva codvāhe
snānam eva prasādhanam
Meaning-Unsuccessful would be considered the person who does not have money . Hypocrisy would be the key virtue of all the people. Marriages would happen just by verbal agreements. People would find it fit to come out in the open just after taking a bath.
5) Srimad Bhagavatam 12.3.42
na rakshishyanti manujah
sthavirau pitarav api
Meaning- Kaliyug would see men not taking care of their parents as they should.
